Coach Durham, 26, was born and raised in San Jose. Michael attended Branham High School from 2004-2007 where he was a two-sport athlete lettering in both Wrestling and Baseball, with all-league awards.

After graduating from Branham Michael transferred to West Valley College from 2008-2010. In his freshman year, he was the starting Center Fielder and won 2nd Team All-Conference. As a sophomore, he won 1st team All-Conference and Junior College Player of the Year. Michael still holds the single season and all time doubles record at West Valley. After his sophomore season, Michael received a scholarship to attend Campbellsville University in Kentucky where he played his Junior and Senior years. Here Michael was awarded All-League and Gold Glove awards.

Michael signed his first pro contract in 2013 with The American West League, but ended up playing overseas in Germany's top league for the Mannheim Tornados. In 2014 he came back to the U.S. to play Independent ball. I signed a contract to play for the Lake Erie Crushers in the Frontier League. Within the same year Michael also played for the Vallejo Admirals in the Pacific Association. For his final year of baseball I went back to Germany and played for the Mannheim Tornados again and lead the league in home runs.
